Juan Cole is the Richard P. Mitchell Professor of History and the director of the Center for South Asian Studies at the University of Michigan.  His latest book, "Engaging the Muslim World," is just out in a revised paperback edition from Palgrave Macmillan.

Brent Nongbri is a Post Doctoral Fellow in Early Christianity in the Department of Ancient History at Macquarie University in Australia. He received his PhD in religious studies from Yale University in 2008. His first book, "Before Religion: A History of a Modern Concept," was published in December by Yale University Press.
